Are wrinkles really making you age?
I’m not so sure they can take all the blame. More and more clients are approaching us looking for a solution to unsightly Thread Veins. Thread veins, or Telangiectasia to use their Sunday name, can appear at any time and are normally the result of wear and tear of the capillary. This can be caused by sun exposure, moving from hot to cold environments, lack of protection on the skin but in most cases they are just the result of the ageing process. They can be difficult to camouflage with regular concealers and can really make our skin appear older before it’s time.
Having worked with many systems in the past, inluding IPL and laser, to treat veins I am seeing the most success now with Advanced Electrolysis and am regularly asked to correct treatment carried out with IPL and laser.
Advanced Electrolysis utilises a tiny needle combined with heat to cauterize veins. The combination of controlled heat and a tiny probe means there is minimal disruption to the skin and little down time.
Here are some frequently asked questions….
Do veins disappear straight away?
Yes, they do but may slowly return if the flow of blood is strong enough, which is why more than one treatment is generally required. A consultation would establish how many sessions may be needed.
Is the treatment safe?
Yes, the treatment carries little or no risk. Precautions would be required if there was any medical conditions but again a consultation would confirm this. Following your treatment normal activities can be resumed and it is commonly described as a walk-in walk-out procedure.
Will it be painful?
There is a level of discomfort, but it’s short term and only during treatment. Immediately after the skin will be a little pink but with no pain.
How much will it cost?
An initial consultation is free of charge and treatments start at £60 per session.
